Indian-Origin CEO in U.S. Drives Enterprise IT Solutions for Small Businesses

New Delhi / Maryland
In an era where career paths are often linear and predictable, Deepesh Saxena’s journey stands out as a compelling story of reinvention, resilience, and self-discovery. Today, as the CEO of CMIT Solutions, Silver Spring, he leads a technology services company delivering enterprise-grade IT solutions to small and medium businesses across North America.  His rise has been anything but conventional.

Born and educated in India, Deepesh began his academic journey as a science student before shifting to economics and eventually qualifying as a Chartered Accountant—covering all three traditional career streams of science, arts, and commerce. His early professional years saw him moving to Dubai, where he joined Ernst & Young, marking the beginning of his international career.

From finance roles in Dubai’s corporate sector to leading software and ERP operations, Deepesh gradually transitioned into the world of information technology. His expertise soon took him to the United States during the turbulent phase of the early 2000s tech downturn. Despite the uncertain environment, he adapted, evolving into an IT leader managing large teams in billion-dollar corporations across Corporate America.

Beyond Corporate Success: A Quest for Meaning

While his professional journey scaled new heights, a parallel inner journey was unfolding. Influenced by his grandfather, a spiritual teacher associated with the practice of Kriya Yoga, Deepesh encountered spirituality early but embraced it later.

In the U.S., he explored structured spiritual disciplines, including Inner Engineering, combining meditation, breathwork, and yogic practices. He also adopted lifestyle changes such as intermittent fasting and a vegan diet, leading to significant improvements in his health.Yet, after years of disciplined practice, he arrived at a deeply personal realization: spirituality, for him, was not about rituals or distant goals like nirvana, but about understanding and experiencing the present moment.

“Self-realization is not something to be attained elsewhere—it is about knowing yourself. Life is happening now. We are either living it, or we are not,” he reflects.

Breaking Away and Building Anew

After decades in high-pressure corporate roles involving mergers, acquisitions, and complex organizational hierarchies, Deepesh made a decisive move—he walked away.

Taking time off for reflection, long walks, and writing, he developed his philosophy around what he calls “Human Technology”—a practical understanding of human experience and awareness.

This clarity ultimately led him to entrepreneurship.

Today, through CMIT Solutions, he applies his diverse experience in finance, technology, and leadership to deliver cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and digital transformation services. His company distinguishes itself with a “Security First” approach and positions itself not merely as a vendor, but as a technology partner for clients.

Enterprise Expertise for Small Businesses

Deepesh’s core mission is to bring enterprise-level IT capabilities to small and medium businesses (SMBs), an often underserved segment.

“Our role is simple,” he says. “Let businesses focus on growth—we take care of keeping them secure and operational.”

From cybersecurity and cloud solutions to compliance and proactive IT monitoring, CMIT Solutions offers a comprehensive suite of services tailored to modern business risks, particularly the rising threat of cybercrime.

A Philosophy of Living in the Present

When asked what matters most to him, Deepesh offers a surprising answer: “Nothing—and everything.”He explains that the idea of something mattering “most” creates unnecessary conflict. Instead, he believes in being fully engaged in whatever one does in the present moment.“Living is happening all the time. ‘Doing’ is only a subset of living. When you are truly present, everything matters,” he says.

An Inspiring Diaspora Story

Deepesh Saxena’s journey—from India to Dubai to the United States, from finance to technology, and from corporate leadership to entrepreneurship—reflects the evolving identity of the Indian diaspora: adaptable, introspective, and globally impactful. His story is not just about professional success, but about redefining success itself.
