New Delhi: In a reassuring statement amid ongoing global energy uncertainties, the government on Thursday said India has sufficient fuel availability for the coming months, with nearly two months of запас already in place and additional supplies secured for the next 60 days.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas confirmed that crude oil supplies have been firmly tied up in advance, ensuring continuity and stability in fuel availability across the country. According to officials, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have proactively entered into import arrangements, leaving no room for disruption in supply chains.
“There is no cause for concern. The country has adequate запас, and future supplies have also been secured,” sources indicated, underlining the preparedness of the government to deal with any external shocks.
The development comes at a time when global oil markets are witnessing volatility due to geopolitical tensions and evolving supply dynamics in key producing regions. India, which depends heavily on imports to meet its energy requirements, has been taking calibrated steps to diversify sourcing and maintain запас buffers.
Officials noted that advance planning by OMCs, coupled with efficient logistics and distribution mechanisms, has helped maintain stability in the domestic fuel market. Continuous monitoring of international price trends and supply conditions is also being undertaken to ensure timely interventions, if required.
The government further emphasized that there has been no disruption in the availability of petrol, diesel, and other petroleum products, and supplies continue to remain smooth across retail outlets nationwide.
This assurance is expected to allay concerns about potential shortages and reinforces confidence in India’s energy security framework, even as global uncertainties persist.
