BCCI Announces IPL 2026 Second Phase Schedule; 13 Venues to Host 70 League Matches

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has officially unveiled the schedule for the second phase of the Indian Premier League 2026 season, confirming that a total of 70 league matches will be played across 13 venues between March 28 and May 24.

In a notable development, defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will, for the first time, not play all their home matches in Bengaluru. The franchise is set to shift two of its fixtures in May to Raipur, marking a strategic expansion of venues and fan engagement beyond traditional home bases.

The multi-city format aims to bring IPL action closer to fans across the country, with venues spread across key cricketing hubs. However, the BCCI has stated that the schedule for the playoffs, including the qualifiers, eliminator, and final, will be announced at a later date.

The IPL continues to evolve as one of the most widely followed T20 leagues globally, and the 2026 edition is expected to draw significant attention with its expanded venue strategy and competitive line-up.

Further details regarding match timings, ticketing, and playoff venues are awaited.
