A true Karmyogi, he rose from Allahabad through sheer hard work and determination, carving a place for himself among the most respected circles in Delhi. His journey with The Indian Express , a newspaper known for its fearless journalism and commitment to truth—defined not just his career, but also the values he stood for. He belonged to a generation of journalists for whom credibility was everything and journalism was a calling, not just a profession.
As one of his old colleagues put it, “A.C. Saab was an institution in himself.” Though he worked on the desk, his influence went far beyond it. Bureaucrats and politicians would often visit the office—not just for work, but to pay their respects to him.
To us, he was more than a journalist—he was a guiding force, a man of quiet strength, discipline, and unwavering principles. His life was a lesson in humility, perseverance, and dignity. He built relationships based on trust and respect, which endured far beyond professional boundaries.
He stood for the finest traditions of journalism integrity, credibility, and a deep sense of responsibility towards society. Even today, his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the standards he set.
Deeply remembered and forever missed.

He was such an inspiration and a pride of the family. He seemed stern but was actually a sensitive and caring man. A scholar with a tremendous memory I remember the discussions with his friends at home, that we had the opportunity to hear once in a while when we were around, they used to fascinate me: such insights into the National affairs and the historic references!! His knowledge and wisdom were unparalleled.
Remember him so fondly and with great regard.
