Bengaluru, June 25: India’s food processing sector is set to gain a major international platform with the launch of Global Food Pro 2027, an international exhibition and conference aimed at strengthening collaboration among industry stakeholders, policymakers, investors, startups and global trade partners.
The initiative was formally unveiled at a function held at the Radisson Blu Atria, Bengaluru, by organisers Laghu Udyog Bharati and IMS Foundation. The platform has been conceived as a year-round ecosystem to promote innovation, manufacturing excellence, technology adoption, investment and exports across the food processing value chain.
The inaugural edition of Global Food Pro will be held from May 13 to 15, 2027, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) under the theme “Connecting the Global Food Industry.”
According to the organisers, the event is expected to attract more than 250 exhibitors, over 20,000 business visitors, and around 500 conference delegates, representing 17 specialised sectors of the food processing industry.
Unlike a conventional trade fair, Global Food Pro will feature an integrated format comprising an international exhibition, knowledge conference, buyer-seller meets, B2B and B2G meetings, investor connect programmes, startup pavilion, international trade delegations, live demonstrations and structured networking sessions.
Several prominent personalities from government, industry and academia attended the launch programme, including Suresh Prabhu, former Union Minister for Commerce and Industry; Dr C. Anandharamakrishnan, Director of CSIR-NIIST; Dr Jagat Shah, Chief Mentor of Global Network Institute; and Dr Bijna Kotak Dasani, Managing Director of ArthAum Group.
The organisers said the initiative aims to support India’s long-term ambition of becoming a global hub for food processing by fostering stronger collaboration among manufacturers, MSMEs, startups, technology providers, research institutions, investors and policymakers.
The platform will also focus on promoting exports, facilitating investments, encouraging knowledge sharing and creating international partnerships to support sustainable growth of the sector.
With global demand for value-added food products, advanced manufacturing technologies and sustainable processing solutions on the rise, Global Food Pro is expected to provide Indian businesses with new opportunities to expand into international markets and strengthen India’s position in the global food processing landscape.
